    Information Service Center (ISC) is a unit of Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen (SHU) which ensures, manage and coordinate all information activities at the university.

    The ISC provides information provision and service with the help of information and communication technologies of the educational, research, administrative activities at the university.

    To build a modern IT environment, providing conditions for improving the quality of educational, research and administrative activities at Konstantin Preslavsky University of Shumen.

    • Providing information services and resources to the members of the academic community of SHU, through the construction, insurance and development of the university information infrastructure.
    • Providing consultations and training of employees and educators in the use of university information systems.
    • Providing modern information services in order to support the educational and research activities at the university, including consultations for the construction and maintenance of educational computer laboratories, software systems for managing and supporting the educational process and research activities at the university.
    • Providing information services to support the administrative activity of all units at the university.
    • Providing technologies and standards for electronic and remote learning; user rights and access management; providing consultations related to the use of e-learning environments at the University.
    • Development, implementation, administration and integration of specific, existing and new information systems at the university, related to the educational, research and administrative activities.
    • Installation and system administration of applied information systems at SHU, management of virtual machines, management of configurations, management of software distributions and updates, installation of operating systems at the university, monitoring of events, management of hardware resources at SHU.
    • Management of hardware configurations, management of software distributions and licenses, installation of desktop operating systems on the office computers at SHU.
    • Supporting the academic community at SHU in applying for funding of research projects involving the use of information and communication technologies.
    • Development of policies and rules for information services at the University.
    • Planning and development of technical documentation for the acquisition and delivery of computer and communication resources, consumables and spare parts for hardware;
    • Development of rules and policies for the security of the information infrastructure at SHU, including protection from unauthorized access, protection of personal data from publicity and their use without permission of the owner.
    • Construction, development and maintenance of the University Computer Network (UCN), including basic software ensuring the functionality and basic network services, as well as the connections of the UCN to other university networks and the Internet.
    • Manage the network address space of UCN; administration and maintenance of the base servers – DNS and proxy for the university’s area; the primary domain and subdomain registrations in the local DNS; registration and provision of wireless access for members of the academic community to UCN.
    • Ensuring the security of UCN and access to Internet.
    • Provision of internal and external landline telephone connectivity at the University.
    • Service of the University’s group to a mobile phone operator.
    • Providing technical assistance, consultations and recommendations for maintenance and development of technical, network and program systems and resources in the main structural units at the University.
    • Providing computer and multimedia tools for the educational, research and administrative activities carried out at the university.
    • Ensuring the functionality and technical maintenance of computer, communication resources and the organizational equipment at the university.
    • Development and implementation of rules and policies for the use of the University’s communication resources.
    • Maintaining business communication with all external providers of information services, organizational technology, etc. with which SHU has established contractual relations.
